Day 1

  • Reading - Listen to the story of 'Jim and the Beanstalk' talk about what happens with an adult, answer the questions using full sentences:

    • Can you think of three adjectives to describe the plant?

    • what might the people on the street be thinking and feeling when they see Jim with the glasses? check their faces and how they are reacting with their bodies 

  • Writing - Think about the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk', now think about the story 'Jim and the Beanstalk' how do the 2 stories differ

  • Spellings - common exception words - even, break, steak, great, move, prove, improve, sure, sugar, eye

  • Maths - Making equal parts complete task sheet

  • Creative - make giants shoes, glasses, teeth, wig or dress up as the giant and act out part of the story

  • Jumpstart jonny - I like to move it

Day 2

  • Listen again and recap the story "Town Mouse, Country Mouse" discuss and answer the questions about predicting

    • Do you think the house swap will happen again? why? why not?

    • Why do you think STOP! is written in large, bold letters? How should we read it out?

  • Writing - Extend sentences using when/if/that/or/but. Use the ideas from the story and write a paragraph

  • Spellings - television, treasure, usual, division, vision, pleasure, measure, occasion, usually, leisure

  • Maths - sing the 2x tables song, divide and make equal groups

  • Creative - Create a picture in purple mash of your garden or a flower

  • Well-being - exercise word challenge
